Looks like it’s actually going to happen – Microsoft is preparing to alter Internet Explorer to avoid the Eolas lawsuit issues. I’m really glad that this probably means Eolas (Mike Doyle) won’t get a cent, but it’s insane that one man can force this kind of pointless, time-wasting change on the world.

MSDN has detailed the proposed changes – and a test version of IE incorporating the mods. Macromedia also have a site up detailing proposed solutions and options (which also includes an email update facility, nice!).
