it's a boy! or is it?

We went for our 16-week scans this morning, all is fine - praise God! We were hoping to be able to tell the baby's sex... we can't be sure yet (with any luck - and open legs - we will be at the next scan) but for now there's a 75% chance it's a boy :-)

I'm now in trouble (grin) because my blood type is AB positive, and Clair is negative - which means she has to have a regular blood test to check for problems. She hates blood tests, as anyone who knows her knows well. If Prawn's Rh factor is positive - i.e. different from mom - then there is a *very* slight chance of complications (and there is a 70% chance that Prawn will be positive). Mom could produce antibodies targeting Prawn's incompatible blood - but happily this is very unlikely - even more so because this is her first pregnancy. Even if it happens, it can be treated successfully.

We also have a scan "for the grannies" which is conveniently labeled :-)
