picture-postcard sunset, mars puzzles and Knoppix

God was really showing off last night. This was the kind of sunset which makes you glad to be alive... this kind of beauty doesn't just happen "by accident"!

An hour earlier, on my way home:

Here's a challenge i'm up for - Crack the secret Mars code! The Planetary society (and Lego) designed a mini-dvd, which is attached to one of the lander's petals (what an advertising coup for Logo :-) and shows a secret message made up of dots and dashes around it's rim.

On a totally unrelated note, if you ever have to get rw access to an NTFS filesystem (for example, to get into a locked machine you don't have a login account for :) then Knoppix STD is invaluable. It's a collection of freely available Linux security tools, packaged onto a single bootable CD - a brilliant toolkit!
