it's a boy :-)

Prawn Caleb James McPhail let us know in no uncertain terms that he was a boy, and proud of the fact, in our midway 20-week scan this morning :-) No pictures this time round (sorry Mom), but we did take a video which we're currently trying to convert to digital.

I will not call Caleb Prawn.
I will not call Caleb Prawn.
I will not call Caleb Prawn.
I will not call Caleb Prawn.

Caleb seems to wake up with Clair around 2am every morning (one of her frequent trips to the loo) and bounce around quite a bit - it's awesome to know there's a little life in there, awake and aware and moving around.. i can't help getting really excited each time Clair tells me she feels him move (and i can't wait until *i* can feel him too).

Knowning you have a child coming into the world - who is your responsibility - gives you an entirely new viewpoint on future planning (and worrying, my primary sin). You start giving gabble like this Guardian article more than a passing glance... it's not nearly as funny as it would have been say 5 months ago.

In other news, FreeBSD 5.2.1-Release is here! I also stumbled across a brief history of the microsoft.com site... favourite quote:

"amazingly, it is easier to find information on the Web than it is to find information on the Microsoft Corporate Network."
    -Bill Gates, May 1995.
