counting crows, babytalk and fine lines

ast weekend was insane - but brilliant - I need another weekend to recover.

  • Friday evening - attending a barn dance 21st :-) followed by drinks out with Rowan

  • Saturday - ripping out 90% of the plant matter from the garden, and carting it to the refuse dump (yes i had help), followed by the amazing brilliant Counting Crows live @ Westridge Park! Just Jinger fronted for them - and they were amazing too. 3 and a half hours of awesome music - and getting there early (Clair's idea) made sure we were right up front by the stage. Clair is more than a little mad about the band - last time they came to Durban, she actually touched Adam (gasp :-) and so being pregnant was no obstacle to standing for the entire concert. I wonder what Caleb thinks of all of this - he didn't move much during the concert itself.

  • Sunday - baptism church service in the morning (no evening service for once), followed by a really noisy and fun friends and family get-together at our place. Badly behaved children and stressed animals were the only downside. I like a noisy chaotic house - reminds me of my childhood... and then out for more drinks and snacks at Waxy's in the evening (hello Richard and Mel!) and too much booze for many.

  • Monday (a public holiday - Sunday was Human Rights Day) - a morning breakfast with my brother and his wife and her family (Warren and Tam were down from Joburg and stayed with us) followed by Delys' birthday party at her place. Many couples who have just had babies, or are about to do so... i hope we're never that bad, with nothing else to discuss besides babies, babies, babies :-)
On a work note, i think i've crossed a scary line into management land... for the first time in my life, i caught myself saying "damn, all the public holidays next month are really going to blow our schedule". I still can't believe i said that.
