aliens, IE

Mike Mauler discovered a flaw in IE...this little script will crash IE (you have been warned :) It's not an exploit, but it could be annoying.

The code looks like this (remove the exclamation marks):
<script type="text/javascript">
    Wnd = window.createPopup();
    Wnd.document.body.innerHTML='<meta http-equiv="imagetoolbar" content="no">';
</scr!pt>
I found the announcement here (WinNTMag).

I've just installed the Seti@home screensaver client again... it's been awhile since I last contributed. I looked at my stats, and i've been a member since May 21st 1999 - so just past my 5 year anniversary! I've contributed 6600 hours of CPU time so far, and even tho i haven't contributed the stats claim "You have completed more work units than 80.671% of our users" :) Nobody persists with anything these days it seems. The overall stats are so huge they don't mean much... total CPU time so far is 1937275.491 years. Travelling at light speed, that would almost be enough time to reach our nearest neighbour galaxy - Andromeda. South Africa ranks 28th in terms of CPU time per country, which is cool.

I just discovered the remade series of Battlestar Galactica... i love stuff like this! Brings back some amazing memories from my childhood when the original series featured large in my life. They don't seem to have butchered the original concepts either, just extended them - *handshake* - and used tons of CGI. Sends shivers down my spine :-)

A direct quote from yesterdays IT Operations Report:
If you need to call KevinS, please call him on his home phone and not his cellphone. Apparantly some gerbil incident.
Alrighty then.
