caleb takes his time

it's 11h45 and we've just had breakfast - this could be the last time we sleep in for ages. It's freezing outside (which means about 8 degrees Celsius for you foreigners - no sarcastic comments please) - i love South African winters! Inducement yesterday didn't happen - when we arrived at the hospital for the checkup, we discovered that labour had already begun - Praise God! Clair was 2cm dilated, and everything was "favourable" - which made the doc smile, he loves relatively easy births :-) He didn't want to induce last night - his tuesday morning was pretty booked up in theatre, and with everything being favourable, Caleb would likely be born this morning. So if nothing happens before 21h00 tonight, inducement happens then. Clair had several contractions (and we think they were the real thing, not braxton-hicks) last night - 7 minutes apart at one stage, and more uncomfortable than sore... but they stopped later in the evening. We reckon it had something to do with all the walking we did yesterday (mall-ratting and seeing Bob off at the airport) so we're going walking today - probably going to see some sharks at uShaka :-).

So everything was happening in God's time after all - Caleb was due Wednesday, and it looks like he'll be spot-on (maybe he'll grow up to be a project manager :-) I'm excited and a little impatient now - camera all ready with tons of spare batteries, bags packed, house-sitter can't wait for us to get out the house (hi Rowan) and the SMS bill is steadily reaching record levels. Certain people seem more excited than we are :-).

I'm so proud of my wonderful Clair, and so grateful to God for the miracle He is blessing us with - i feel like jumping up and down and yelling! I'm also grateful for our amazing support circle of friends, family and Church - my work colleagues have also been fantastic, banning me from the office.
