I've been man-down for an entire week with the latest flu variant... this entry serves mainly to remind me what it was like, and so give me a whole new appreciation for being healthy :)
Our doc calls this flu variant the "boomerang bug" because it comes back and hits you again - harder the second time around. I felt sick on a Wednesday, felt fine on the Thursday evening, and proceeded to overdo things totally when we went away for the weekend to the amazing and highly recommended Tamakwa Lodge (unlike the place itself, the website isn't exactly 4-star). The whole awesome experience needs a post of its own.
Photos are here.
Come Sunday (my first official Father's Day :-)... and the bug was back with a vengeance. Aches & pains, headache, total loss of energy and appetite, nasty nasty cough and chest pain... and of course a ton of grumpiness (i'm not good at dealing with being sick, i put it down to lack of experience).
On the plus side i've actually had time to read Bill Bryson's A Short History of Nearly Everything, which is brilliant, fascinating, funny, humbling and scary all at once. It should be a prescribed book at school.
QOTD:
"It is true that many Americans find the Commandments in accord with their personal beliefs. But we do not count heads before enforcing the First Amendment."

Yea, this flu is real nasty! Not a good one at all, as if there ever is a good flu :)
On the being sick front, i too do not deal well with being sick and am a grump of note. I was even told not to come to home cell..LOL! I should stay in bed and recover - thanks Pastor ;)
