Farewell Arthur C. Clarke, and Thank You

Farewell to a man who changed my life through the only truly mind expanding drug - Science Fiction.

I have read every single sci-fi novel and short story of his, often more than once, and have vividly happy memories from many of them.

the Feathered Friend is one of the most impressive story I've ever read.

Not my most impressive by a long way, but a good early story of his (1957!) - and I hadn't read it for years, found a copy here:
